Gosford City Council - Community Arts & Cultural Development
Council's Cultural Strategic Planning Committee was established to provide members of the community with the opportunity to advise Council on the cultural development needs of the area.

The Committee involves community representatives and has provided creative input into a wide variety of programs across Council. These have included ideas on bike tracks, roundabouts, signage and street scapes. The Committee also looks at broader issues such as information provision and policy development.

Recently a Cultural Logo has been developed which it is hoped will become synonymous with cultural activity within Gosford City.

Involvement in festivals such as the Flora Festival and the Australia Day Celebrations is a major part of the development strategies for community enhancement. These activities occur on a yearly basis and attract large crowds. The estimated attendance at the 1996 Flora Festival was 71,000 people.

This year a Cultural Plan has been produced which will guide Council and the community in the process of enabling and enhancing the cultural development of the area.
